Margan Wines

Lisa and Andrew Margan established Margan Wines in 1996 in the Broke Fordwich region of the Hunter Valley.
Margan now boast 100 hectares of distinguished vineyards, all certified Sustainably Farmed and planted across two main sites. Most of the vines are old, low yielding and grown on the ancient volcanic soil of the Fordwich Sill, creating a unique style that defines Margan wines. The vines are a mixture of the classic, iconic varieties of the region as well as newer and alternative varieties pioneered by Margan over the decades.
All wines are Estate Grown and Made on site and are wines of concentration, structure, balance and texture. Wines that speak of their variety, the soil they are grown in and their sense of place. They are modern expressions but with a nod to the traditions of the Hunter, the birthplace of the Australian wine industry.
Margan are leaders in environmental stewardship and are fully accredited with Sustainable Winegrowing Australia with certification benchmarking to the ISO14000 series (International Standards) for best practice. This requires following a detailed Environmental Management Plan (EMP) to reduce impacts across all business operations in the
